    Villa Holidays in Playa Blanca

Where will tourists find the best selection of hotels and villas in Lanzarote? The Island of Fire has long been a hot favourite with holidaymakers.  Who historically have headed for either Puerto del Carmen or Costa Teguise to spend their holidays on Lanzarote.

But over the last ten years a new rival resort has emerged to challenge this duopoly – in the form of Playa Blanca.  Which is located right at the southern tip of the island.

Playa Blanca has rapidly grown from the archetypal small fishing village to become Lanzarote´s second most popular holiday destination. Thanks to a number of natural advantages that give it a real edge over the resort rivals to the north.
Perhaps most importantly Playa Blanca boasts the best microclimate on the island.  Which means that tourists staying here experience the best weather Lanzarote has to offer.  A factor which is of paramount importance – especially during the winter months when the contrast between the north and south of the island can be pronounced.

Playa Blanca is also more sheltered than Costa Teguise.  As the resort is contained within three small coves that are set within one larger sheltered bay.  Providing protection from the Trade Winds that blow across the island for much of the year and which can lower temperatures noticeably.

The best beaches on the island are also located in very close proximity to the resort.  With the five  coves and bays at Papagayo – regarded as some of the most beautiful beaches in the whole of the Canarian archipelago –
just a short stroll from the town.

Playa Blanca is also the gateway to the neighbouring island of Fuerteventura.  Which sits just 8km away across the Bocaina Straits.  Providing tourists with the opportunity to visit not just one but two Canary Islands whilst on holiday.  As well as an atmospheric backdrop come nightfall. As the lights shimmer across the water.

Thanks to the fact that Playa Blanca was developed later than Lanzarote´s other resorts planners learnt from these earlier developments.  And as a result placed luxury hotels and holiday villas right at the core of the blueprint when developing Playa Blanca.  So ensuring that most of the villas here occupy elevated positions – and as a result enjoy great views.
The property boom of the late 1990´s saw overseas investors snapping up these villa properties.  For use as either private holiday homes or to rent out to fellow tourists.  With the average price of a weeks stay in holiday villas in Playa Blanca coming in at around €600 per week for a two bed property with pool.
