    Munich in Germany must be visited during the months from May to September when the weather is very pleasant. During summers, the weather can be wet at times and there could be few thunderstorms as well.     • There are innumerable museums in Munich such as the Kartoffelmuseum (potatoes) and the Deutches Jagd- und Fishereimuseum. The leading art museums of the city are found in the Maxvorstadt district. Here are museums like the Glyptothek that house the Greek and Roman antiquities, the Neue Pinakothek showcasing the artifacts of the 18th to early 20th century and the Alte Pinakothek featuring European paintings.
    • You can head towards the Karlsplatz from the main rail road station and then pass through an underground passage to Fussgangerzone, the main shopping centre of the city. The most outstanding landmark here is the Neues Rathaus that is the new city hall. You can climb up the tower which is 85 meters high and have a breathtaking view of the city. There is a Glockenspiel along with mechanical dancers with performances held at 11 am and 12 pm and also at 5 pm (only in summers).
    • The Frauenkirche, that is the Church of Our Lady, is Munich’s Roman Catholic cathedral. The interior of the church is very long, more than a football field. The South tower which can be visited by people for most part of the year is 99 meters tall. There are many other churches in Munich that one can visit. One of the most prominent ones is the Asamkirche with beautiful architecture and Bavarian Baroque interiors.
    • There are a big number of football stadiums that were refurbished for the World Cup that was held in 2006. Among them, the most stunning and impressive is the Allianz Arena. During the night, the entire stadium can glow in three colours namely white, red or blue. The arena is simply spectacular and can seat around 70000 spectators. You can tour the Allianz Arena on days when there are no matches held for a nominal fee. You can visit the players’ dressing rooms and have a great feel about being in there, the press club, the player tunnel, the commentators’ box, view the seating arrangements as well as private boxes for VIPs. Do not forget to visit the “Markenwelt” or “World of Brands” shops and have a bite at the Restaurant A La Carte.
    • Paying a visit to the Nymphenburg Palace can be an exhilarating experience. The palace was built by Elector Ferdinand Maria and Henriette Adelaide of Savoy in celebration of the birth of their son and heir to the throne. The Great hall, Steinerner Saal has been decorated in Rococo style while the Gallery of Beauties will leave you enchanted.
