The French Riviera (or Côte d’Azur as it’s actually named) is on the south-east corner of France, and was seen as the first modern area for tourists in Europe. In summer, this sunny and idyllic location is one of the most beautiful places for people to vacation for its stunning views and coastline. Below we look at the most exotic beaches to visit while on holiday in the French Riviera.

Plage de la Buse

Although not a sandy beach, Plage de la Buse is a beautifully-set rocky beach that offers numerous other benefits to visitors. Enjoy a relaxing walk along the beach and taste some of the French cuisine while escaping the noise and business of the more populated locations. This is a very romantic beach, with people often coming for the great views and friendly atmosphere.

Plage de l’Estagnol

This absolutely stunning beach with a spectacular view across the landscape, Plage de l’Estagnol is one of the perfect beaches to go and unwind with your partner or family. Set in an ideal location and in easy reach of numerous cafes, pubs and restaurants, it’s seen as one of the places and most exotic beaches to visit while on the French Riviera.

Plage de Notre Dame

Plage de Notre Dame is seen as the beach with the best view on the French Riviera. Along with the coastline and scenery found at other beaches in the area, Plage de Notre Dame is home to a number of fishing boats that can be viewed out at sea – making it a wonderful location to sit, relax and enjoy the view as you enjoy some refreshments. This beach is popular with tourists, so it can often be one of the more populated beaches in the region – but don’t let that put you off, as its most definitely worth it once you arrive.

Paloma Plage

This little-known beach on St-Jean Cap Ferrat is wonderfully set away from a lot of the popular tourist locations in the area. Although it’s another pebble beach, its shallow bay is perfect for families to take a visit, and enjoy some of the Riviera’s cleanest water – making it a great location to have a swim out to sea, look back, and enjoy some stunning views of the area.

Plage de La Garoupe

Plage de La Garoupe is known as a child-friendly beach within the French Riviera, and the shallow warm water and interesting rocks makes great fun for visiting families. This beach attracts a varied range of people, including a cosmopolitan crowd made up of Swedes, Italians, and of course, English. With some of the softest sand found on any beach in the region, Plage de La Garoupe is a definite favourite for people travelling to the area.

Whichever beach you decide to visit while on holiday in the French Riviera, all of the beaches benefit from wonderful scenery, warm water, and provide the perfect opportunity for you to relax and unwind with your family.
