Pune is the city sited in the Maharashtra state in India. It is the eighth major city in India and second prevalent in Maharashtra. The Pune city has historical significance as most of the historic events took place in this city. In olden days, it was the center of power of Maratha Empire. It is located on the Deccan plateau on the confluence of the rivers Mula and Mutha. It is the administrative capital of Pune district.

Also there are many historic forts around the city. The Sinhagad fort is the closest to the city and main tourist attraction in rainy season.
