Cinque Terra is one of the most unspoiled areas and best preserved natural areas of the Mediterranean. It is a rocky portion of coast on the Italian Riviera which lies in the Liguria region of Italy to the west of the city La Spezia.

In recent years, Cinque Terra became very popular and marvelous tourist destination featuring five seaside villages in eastern Liguria – Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, and Riomaggiore. The coastline, the five villages, and the adjacent hillsides are all part of the Cinque Terra National Park which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997.

Monterosso al Mare is the northern most town which has the biggest beach in Cinque Terra. The town is known for its beautiful and best in sandy beaches with crystalline water and lots of colorful umbrellas, and steep rocky cliffs.

Corniglia is nested on a hundred meters high steep promontory with a breathtaking view and surroundings of terraces and vineyards. The church of San Pietro is considered to be one of the most significant monuments in the gothic lingurian style in Cinque Terra.

Manarola is probably the oldest of the villages surrounded by vines and best known for its local wine. The Church of San Lorenzo with a beautiful rose window way back to 14th century is located at the upper side of the village. The Via dell’ Amore is a two kilometers in distance that leads to Riomaggiore is a perfect way to enjoy the surroundings simply by walking.
